Frequently Asked Questions
What is Term Life Insurance?
Term Life insurance supplies protection for a specified period of time; a term of 1, 5, 10 or 20 years, or up to age 65. This
type of policy only pays a benefit if you die during the policy term. Term insurance builds no cash value.
What is Whole Life Insurance?
Whole Life Insurance is meant to be kept throughout your life. Whole Life Insurance accumulates cash value over time.
The cash value is available to borrow against the policy, or the value of the policy is paid to the policy owner when the
contract ends. Withdrawals are treated as loans and interest accumulates based on the loan amount. If not paid back,
the death benefit would be reduced by the loan amount still owed.
What is Long Term Care Insurance?
Long Term Care insurance is protection that pays for assistance at home, assisted living facilities and nursing homes
normally during the latter stages of life.
PPO – Group Care that gives employers the choice of a number of options to customize your group's coverage with benefits that best
fit the needs of employees. It has strong provider networks and a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) option that brings greater
savings in premium and out-of-pocket costs.
POS – is a Point of Service plan that works like an HMO plan, but with a unique advantage: the ability to choose providers outside the
network and still receive benefits. Your primary care physician helps coordinate your health care needs, but you can enjoy direct
access to network specialists without needing a referral.
HSA - It's a personal tax-free savings account used to cover medical expenses. After enrolling in a high-deductible plan, you may
annually deposit into your HSA on a tax-free basis up to $2,850 for an individual policy and $5,650 for a family policy. Funds in the
HSA account that are not used for medical expenses can accumulate tax-free from year to year until retirement.
